POLYCOM TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Best case scenario when addressing the teleconference Internet connection and dealing with a heavily firewalled corporate system.

A static (WAN) IP address, with all ports open and all protocols available, utilizing UDP & TCP protocols on the following ports :

• Port 389 (TCP): For ILS registration
• Port 1503 (TCP): Microsoft NetMeeting T.120 data sharing
• Port 1718 (UDP): Gatekeeper discovery
• Port 1719 (UDP): Gatekeeper RAS (Must be bi-directional)
• Port 1720 (TCP) H.323 Call setup (Must be bi-directional)
• Port 1731 (TCP): Audio call control (Must be bi-directional)
• Ports 3230-3235 (TCP/UDP): Signaling and control for audio, call, video
• H.239 role management enabled for document sharing and PC graphics presentation.

A network connection bi-directional speed to the internet of at least 800KBps to accommodate the data flow.

In our experience: AV people make "better pictures and sound" than IT people! Let IT handle the network and let AV handle the audio and video.
